Christopher Robin Review

I finally saw Christopher Robin over the weekend and let me just say… I LOVED it! It was such a heartwarming story, and really brought the nostalgia of the original Winnie the Pooh movies. I definitely give this a 10/10 and can’t wait to buy it on blu-ray.

Christopher Robin follows the story of Christopher Robin as he leaves behind the Hundred Acre Wood and all of his friends to go to boarding school. We watch Christopher Robin grow up, fall in love, go to war, and even have a daughter himself. When he returns from the war to go to work, he seems to forget the days of his youth and his time in the woods, and even forgets the most important thing in his life- his family.

Winnie the Pooh comes to London and convinces Christopher to return to the Hundred Acre Wood and shenanigans ensue. Thanks to Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore, and Piglet, Christopher Robin returns again to the loving, playful person who created his friends and is able to bring his wife and daughter into that world.

Ewan McGregor shines as Christopher Robin, and the voice talent of Jim Cummings returns as our favorite silly old bear, Winnie the Pooh. Hayley Atwell is Evelyn Robin, Christopher’s wife, and a slew of other famous voices lend their talent to the rest of the Hundred Acre Wood crew.

I grew up watching the Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, and Christopher Robin reminded me so much of the days of my childhood watching that beloved movie. Surprisingly well done, the drama and plot are grown up enough to enrapture adults, while the slight slapstick humor and sweet characters can interest children of all ages. I always love a movie that’s set in the era after World War II, and it helped add to the nostalgic feeling of the movie. The story is sweet, and honestly, I felt myself tearing up at how tender certain moments were. It was a great reminder to slow down and enjoy life as it is happening, and to take time to indulge the child inside you.

What did you think about Christopher Robin? Did you think it was as heartwarming as I did? Let me know what you think below!
