Rock Art has been around for a long, long time!
Every year it seems to enjoy a renewed popularity.
This year has proved to be no different!
I have a water fountain surrounded by rocks in my front yard.
My grandchildren love to play with the rocks and invariably put them in the water fountain!
Their fascination with the rocks sparked my interest in rock painting.
During one of my visits to my go-to place, Target, I found a “paint your own Rock Pet,” boxed art project for children.
The cost was a phenomenal $3.
Sold!
Rock Art Materials:
The box contained everything needed: 1 Poly Stone Figure, 1 Paint Brush, and 3 Paint Pots.
Rock Art Instructions:
Have a small cup of water and paper towels handy. Use these to clean your paint brush after applying and changing each paint color.
Rock Art Helpful Suggestions:
If you paint in sections, it will make it easier to work with your design.
Each section will be allowed to dry slightly before you move on to the next.
Remember, rinse and dry your brush thoroughly when changing paint colors.
If you want to add various layers of paint or details, allow the first coat of paint to dry completely.
Find a rock, grab a paintbrush, get some paint and create your very own “Rock Art.”
