My younger daughter and I have frizzy hair that is also thick and heavy. Can anyone else relate?
I thought so.
Here’s the deal. Frizzy hair is caused by lack of moisture; this occurs for a very important reason, according to our hair stylist.
Tips for Taming Frizzy Hair:
Shannon, who has been doing hair for over 20 years, told us that many popular shampoos contain an ingredient called sulfate.
Guess what? Sulfate strips moisture from the hair, causing it to be frizzier. Not good.

The best tip to defrizz your hair? Buy shampoo and conditioner that are sulfate-free.
Shannon recommended Carol’s Daughter, which has left my daughter’s hair much smoother than a normal shampoo.

Also, the brand it’s a 10 has a great product called “miracle defrizzing gel” that Shannon recommended to me. It works really well! It doesn’t leave your hair feeling sticky or stiff, which are huge benefits. The smell is great, too.

Another defrizzing tip: Don’t towel-dry your hair after shampooing.
When you go to the salon, notice how the stylist dries hair; she uses the towel to absorb the water, but doesn’t move it around it much.
That’s because doing so will create frizzy hair. Instead of towel-drying, pat your hair with the towel.
Finally, don’t over brush or over comb the hair. This, too, can create frizz.
For those of us who have it, we’ll try just about anything to get rid of it.
