Chicken Bake Italiano Ingredients:
With just five simple ingredients, this is one of the easiest dishes I’ve ever made.
You will need chicken breasts, pesto, a can of Italian style diced tomatoes, shredded Mozzarella
cheese, and basil.
I used two chicken breasts and 1 can of Italian style diced tomatoes.
It was more than enough to feed two very hungry adults.
The pesto, Mozzarella cheese, and basil provided tons of flavor.

Chicken Bake Italiano Directions:
Prepare a square baking dish with non-stick spray.
Pour the tomatoes into the dish and spread evenly over the bottom.
Place the chicken breasts into the tomatoes.
Spread pesto over each piece of chicken.
The tomatoes and pesto provide flavor and moisture to the chicken.
Bake for approximately 40 minutes.
Make sure the chicken is cooked thoroughly.
Remove from the oven and top with shredded Mozzarella cheese.
Return to the oven for approximately 5 minutes or until the cheese is melted.
Remove from the oven and sprinkle with basil.
I have to say that this was one of the easiest dishes I’ve ever made.
This is a wonderful and speedy Italian-style entree.

Any cut of chicken can be used in this recipe. Chicken tenders and thighs work well. Cook time depends on how thick your cuts of chicken are.
Ingredients
- 4-6 chicken breasts
- 1/4 cup pesto
- 1 (14oz) can Italian style diced tomatoes
- 1 1/2 cups shredded Mozzarella cheese
- 2 tablespoons finely chopped basil
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees
- Spray a 9" baking dish with non-stick spray
- Pour the can of tomatoes into the baking dish and spread evenly over the bottom
- Place the chicken breasts into the tomatoes
- Spread 1 tablespoon of pesto over each piece of chicken breast
- Bake for approximately 40 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through
- Remove from the oven and top with shredded Mozzarella cheese
- Return to the oven for approximately 5 minutes until the cheese is melted
- Remove from the oven and sprinkle with the basil
- Serve immediately.
