For Christmas, I received Joanna Gaines’ latest book,”Home Body: A Guide to Creating Spaces You Never Want to Leave.”

As you probably are, I am a huge Jo fan and had to have the book, although I’m not planning on moving anytime soon.

“Home Body” Commentary 

The book begins with a chapter called “Identifying Your Style.” I like a traditional, classic look, but there are other styles like farmhouse, boho, and modern.

Honestly, there is probably something I like about every style, but I probably would most identify with a traditional one.

Jo also describes the different type of home available, including a cottage, bungalow, farmhouse, or ranch.

The remainder of the book is dedicated to explanations about each different room in a home and how it could possibly be decorated.

Some of the photos in the book are from her home, while others are from homes she’s decorated.

One cool photo of her home shows that her children’s playroom has a swing hanging from the ceiling. How awesome would it be to a swing inside your home? I’ll take a slide, too, please! 

“Home Body” starts with entryways and proceeds to living rooms, kitchens, dining rooms, bedrooms, bathrooms, kid spaces, room to retreat, and utility rooms.

In my copy, there’s a bonus chapter called Fireplaces. The back of “Home Body” contains templates where you can draw up plans for your own abode!

This book is amazing because of its lovely photos, Jo’s words of advice, which make a great deal of sense, and its “feel.” You feel at home looking through it, almost as if Jo’s talking to you as you read the pages.

If you don’t already own it, you probably should buy it. Mine came from Target with a 30% off label on the cover, which was significant since the price is $40.
