Disney’s Animal Kingdom- Pandora Review

So I know Pandora at Disney’s Animal Kingdom has been a thing for a while now, but I finally was able to go for the first time. Personally, AK is my least favorite park (it’s just always so hot and so big)- so I hadn’t been there since my honeymoon in 2015.

But after the Halloween party this year, I went there the next day, since I was able to snag some decent FPs. \

So Pandora is the world created from the movie Avatar, so everything from the music to the food is based on this world. It’s not a huge land, but there is enough space for 2 rides, a restaurant, a gift shop, and beautiful scenery.

When you walk into Pandora, you are greeted by the floating mountains- the Hallelujah Mountains- straight from the movie, giant plants, moss walls, and gorgeous detailed theming.

I spent some time wandering around before grabbing lunch at Satu’li Canteen. They have a gorgeous menu with noodle based bowls- however, I opted for the kids hotdog meal (I know, but it sounded good and it was cheap).

Right next to the canteen is a stand with frozen beverages, such as the Night Blossom and Rum Blossom, which come with boba balls and glowing seed pods, as well as spring rolls filled with cream cheese and pineapples.

I got the Rum Blossom, and it was so yummy- I highly recommend it, or the nonalcoholic version if you prefer. The gift shop has Avatar themed gifts, where you can make your own Na’vi bracelets, buy Na’vi ears to wear, and even buy your own banshee.

There are 2 rides in this area, Flight of Passage, which is a thrill ride where you ride on the back of a banshee, and the Na’vi River Journey, which is a boat ride through Pandora at night time. I did not want to wait in the long line for Flight of Passage, but I have heard it is a very cool ride and very worth the wait.

I had a Fast Pass for the Na’vi River Journey, and that was really gorgeous. The ride takes you through the bioluminescent world of Pandora, filled with exotic plants and animals from Pandora. At the end, there is a gorgeous animatronic of a native Na’vi, which is incredibly well done.

This world is gorgeous, and the attention to details here was amazing. I always thought it was a bit of an odd choice to do an Avatar themed land in Disney since it wasn’t originally Disney.

But, it does actually meld well with the rest of the themed lands inside of DAK. Definitely try to do at least a walk through of this land when you go.
